Second-chance is normally my favorite romance trope, but I just couldn’t root for this couple to get back together after the MMC revealed his reason for ending the relationship. I thought it was kind of ironic how while the MC’s were writing their book, they talked about how the hero needed a good reason for ending the relationship, but it couldn’t be something that was unforgivable because they needed the audience to want them to get back together, and then the author gave her hero and unforgivable reason for ending the relationship- at least in my eyes. 

I did enjoy the author’s writing and I would try another book by her, which is why I’m giving this 3.5 stars and not 2.
