I thought I would absolutely love this story, but it was a miss for me. The characters motivations changed on a dime, and the relationships didn't feel authentic. The plot was very 'early 2000s Disney channel original movie', a la Halloweentown.

Can we talk about how the Covingtons are the worst parents? Their daughter was very purposely manipulated by 2 trusted adults in the coven, and her dad punishes her and stays with the coven? Also her decision to stay at the end makes no sense.  Are we supposed to assume that the phone conversation with Joss was a breakup, because the coven is her family now??
