This is mainly a mystery with a bit of a love story. I enjoyed it but we don’t learn much about the characters. It’s all very surface development. And we never learn where her powers come from. It’s a bit slow and some of the descriptions get a bit graphic. Death as a character is pretty boring, he doesn’t do much but calm the main character “little Bird” it gets really annoying after a while. 

It was mostly a good book.
