I'm starting to realize that this author is becoming a new favorite author of mine. Each book he writes is a really interesting read, taking what we know from a particular genre and making it an engaging read. This book was no different and I enjoyed reading it. It was like reading the plot of a funny, well thought out Jurassic Park meets Godzilla.
Part of what I love about the author's stories is that he writes such an efficient story. I know that sounds weird, but he creates this world, one that is just slightly different from our own, goes crazy with it in a believable way, and tells the whole story, with no questions needed in roughly 300 pages. And each time, the story includes incredibly funny banter, action, and a great plot. This was no exception. And I loved it.
On a personal level, I will note that each of his stories does drag a bit in terms of the explanation piece of the storyline, which isn't my favorite. But for some, that might be a bonus to see how the world actually works.
Overall, if you love funny, dialogue heavy stories with action and a creative plot, read this novel and read this author's backlog. You won't be sorry.
