Among the Impostors
by Margaret Peterson Haddix
Luke is hidding from the dreaded Population Police. He’s a third child and the family limit is two so if he’s found he’s a gonner. Hidding in a boys school after home schooling only adds fright to an already scarey experience. Then there are the other boys. The only on who pays attention to Luke, is a boy he calls the jackal boy and the attention is all taunting and bullying. Scared and alone Luke seeks comfort in the outdoors when he can sneek out, but even there danger lurks behind every tree.
