The string of separate stories was interesting. They did not feel very fleshed out and I kept waiting for a greater underlying connection beyond the sandman/death, but it didn’t come. I enjoyed the art but I wish the stories had a bit more depth rather than the deep-but-not-that-deep dramatic sentences that punctuated the storytelling. I loved the previous two sandman books but I must say I was slightly disappointed by this one.
