I don't read contemporary fiction but this was a book club pick and WOW. I was not prepared for the journey I was going to go on with Phoebe while she went on her journey. I was not prepared for how these characters would be so real and vulnerable. The timeline jumping was so well done, it flowed seamlessly into the present narrative story.
