Enjoyable for those who love ACOTAR, Crescent City, and Fourth Wing, though there is a bit less “spice” (though, it’s generally on par for a first book in any comparable series, 1-2 explicit scenes). Could have easily been cut down by 30-40% in my opinion, there’s a lot of back-and-forth across the same places, conversations, and scenes. The MMC twist is pretty obvious, but other twists less so. The rabid monsters were GRUESOME (but I liked it). All in all — fun, not a work of literary art, but held my attention for the most part.
Graphic: Child death, Death, Gore, Blood, Death of parent
