Kingdom of the Cursed by Kerri Maniscalco

Okay I’ll admit this was better than the first. Whether it was because the writing was exponentially better or I was further attached to the characters, this story drew me in and kept me hooked from the beginning. My only complaint(s), again, was the length of Emelia’s inner monologue and the amount of twist and turns the author included. It became confusing for me over time, and I often struggled to figure out what the hell was going on. Does anything from the first book even matter? It seems as though everything we learned was completely re-arranged, if not gutted, in the sequel. Still, I enjoyed Wrath’s character – even if the revelation that he was the devil was a no-brainer. I look forward to completing this series through Audible, as I find that’s the best way to keep me entertained with this series.

Note: can we STOP saying this is YA?? Granted I read a lotttt of dirty things (thank you fanfiction) in my younger years, but this is absolutely not a young adult book. It should be marketed as New Adult if anything
