Beastie Boys Book
by Adam Horovitz, Michael Diamond
Adam Yauch is a long term hero of mine. He showed you can make stupid choices in younger years and grow up and beyond them. Waited a long time for this memoir. and although his death created a gap in the autobiographical equality of the narratives, it made up for it with all the fondness and love shown toward him by the other band members in a way that is never saccharine. It is hard not to be in awe of his depth of talent and maturity. The book itself is structured exactly how I would expect the insides of The Beasties’ brains to all function: colorful and good-humored.
