Deception Point by Dan Brown
1.0
After "The Da Vinci Code" and "Digital Fortress," Dan Brown was 1 for 2 on my scorecard with the former being well-paced enough to be an enjoyable read and the latter being a frustrating waste of time. After reading "Deception Point," I'm never reading anything else by Brown ever again. As someone who's worked at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for 15 years, I can now see why scholars and experts were critical of "The Da Vinci Code." It seems he makes a habit of doing minimal research on an interesting topic and then putting his own spin on it, regardless of how inaccurate the book ends up being. What little time I have in my day that I can devote to reading needs to be better spent on good books and not on dreck like this.
