Mitch Caddo is the brains and ideas guy behind his friend Mack's presidency over the Passage Rouge Reservation. They're running for re-election and it looks to be a tight race. With the loss of power a real threat, there are fewer and fewer boundaries they won't cross. There is an ever present theme questioning who belongs in the tribe, who doesn't and who has the power to decide.
The book slowly, but steadily moves through the political landscape on the reservation as well as Mitch's internal conflicts and reflections. While I enjoyed this book, the ending and resolutions also felt a little lackluster.
