This was all over the place. Very dark and gruesome, but that’s not what made my rating low. The plot simply was insane and jumpy. It took forever to actually get introduced to Cole, there were at least 7 chapters of “build-up” when there probably could’ve only been at most 2 or 3. No mention of Mia looking for her after she’s kidnapped the first time? I know she was grieving but still. The middle of the book was one giant flashback dragged out over multiple chapters, which I know we needed some of that story but the format felt off. & Then at the end Cole is suddenly so remorseful for finding out the truth and never giving Addison a chance to explain but then says he’s not sorry for avenging his brother? And her struggles after the fact with drugs, saying she was dependent on them from Cole drugging her, yet he hadn’t drugged her for months before then because that was when they had their “truce?” Just all over the place to me.
