Days of Blood & Starlight by Laini Taylor

3.5

The first 100 pages were slow and a bit boring. The second half had some really good twists. (Only the one or two twists getting this book 3.5 instead of 3)

I was hoping that Brimstone was alive. Hazael shouldn't have died. Thiago made my senses cringe.

It felt like all the main 'bad characters' died too suddenly. Joram's death could've been done better. It made him feel like a worthless villain (dying naked in the bath!?), especially as he was constantly mentioned in Akiva's thoughts.

It made no sense that the Amzallag and the Shadows That Live readily died on Thiago's command.

I liked reading this one but once I put it down, it was difficult to take it back up and continue.
