This book is soooo slllooooww. Around, I don't know, maybe page 25, a woman goes to visit her cousin. He knows she is coming, yet when she gets there, he isn't there. Instead, two guys are at his house doing some renovations, but they say they haven't seen him in a while either. And they haven't been able to get much work done because they keep hearing creepy noises. Then nothing new happens for about another 100 pages other than extremely bizarre dialogue and so many awkward book references that it felt like the author was screaming, "Look how well read I am!" After those 125 or so pages, the pace started to pick up and the ridiculous book references started to decrease. It felt like something was actually about to happen! But it was a false alarm. Nothing ended up happening for roughly another 150 pages. So basically, nothing happened until roughly 60 pages from the end. And even then, it was kind of anticlimactic and extremely poorly explained. Didn't like it, wouldn't recommend it, wouldn't reread it. I could barely even finish it, and I'm being pretty generous by giving it two stars.
