So I’ve done this a bit backwards and not read the series before this one, but I’ve literally just finished this book and when I tell you it had me IN A CHOKEHOLD, I am not joking! The premise of the book was so good, I felt like I was being educated and gaining knowledge on elixirs and tonics but not having the misfortune of dealing with the poisons affects, near death experiences or the Gauntlet 😮💨
Wren was so fun, I love her character and the way she interacts with people. Her journey was so healing, there was a lot of trauma and sadness throughout this book so seeing her gain sparks of happiness was so beautiful...
… and not to mention her front seat experience of Torj Elderbrock because WOW, GOODNESS ME I NEED A FAN. That man 🧎🏼♀️➡️he can come and teach me self defense ANYDAY. The way he just loves on Wren is so wholesome and the yearning, eurgh, the touch her and 💀 and the way he just HAS to make sure she’s okay by running his hands all OVER HER.
I just cannot. They both ruined me with their adorable hate to love, and the jumping into each other’s arms and the following each other into battle hoping not to die vibes. I’m both excited and scared for the next book.
Helen completely ruined me with this ending, like full on screeching and messaging my friends frantically with all my feelings 🤣
Catch me starting the sequel immediately as I was lucky enough to get an ARC! Thank you @panmacmillan for putting me out of my misery, hopefully
