jonjee 's review for:
The Queen of the Valley
by Lorena Hughes
I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway and was asked to provide a review.
Set in South America during earthquakes and a cholera outbreak, Puri travels from Spain to Columbia to find out what happened to her cocoa supplier and lover, Martin Sabater. Disguised as a nun, she tries to find out what happened on the night of his disappearance. The story is told from multiple character perspectives, each one with a mystery that is slowly revealed as Puri searches for the truth.
This was a light read (it would make a good beach read) with plenty of questions and plot twists. The reading was easy but engaging and I enjoyed it. I look forward to reading other books by this author.
