A Different Dawn by Isabella Maldonado
5.0
I can't get enough of Nina and her BAU teammates!
I'm in love with this series of books. Kent, Wade, Brecker and Guerrera make me wish I had applied to the FBI. Isabella Maldonado does an exceptional job of crafting a crime narrative that focuses on the human experience, not just the who dunit angles; I feel a connection to the characters and their growth, while feeling empathy for the unsub and the victims. The story's use of the evolution of technology as part of the killer's MO was the cherry on top of this "true crime-esque" joyride.
Triggers include suicide, violence, abandonment, drug use, prostitution/human trafficking, post partum depression and child abuse.
