This series is so good. Sarina Bowen is a fantastic author and I’m so happy I bought The Year We Fell Down on a whim and started diving into her works. Now, I didn’t love this book quite as much as that one, but it was definitely still a 5 star read for me. I loved Bridger in the first book, and I loved him even more after finding out his whole backstory. He was truly a gem of a hero. And poor Scarlet, that girl was really going through it. I was almost more invested in her troubles than her relationship with Bridger. But both were A+ content. Like TYWFD, Bowen didn’t beat around the bush at all. The pacing was great and I again appreciated her fluff-free writing. I’m very excited for the next book in the series, especially since it’s a MM romance and I haven’t read many of those.
