East of West, Vol. 2: We Are All One by Jonathan Hickman

4.0

This second volume doesn't "Wow!" me as much as the first volume of "East of West," but the quality of the story, the world, and the art remains excellent. You can feel the story building to something epic, but this volume doesn't provide that payoff. It's likely not to come for a very long time. The best part of this volume is probably Death's encounter with the Oracle, and Nick Dragotta's rendering of her makes her a truly twisted creation. I have to wonder if I'll eventually see her backstory revealed in greater detail within the series; I hope so.
