Ball & Chain
by Abigail Roux
The one with loads of dead bodies
I can understand the complaints from dedicated Ty & Zane fans that there's too much Nick & Kelly in this book.
Personally though, I don't agree, I think they were needed to demonstrate just how far Ty has come in his love for Zane and to show him how disconnected he's become from his fellow Sidewinder Force Recon guys.
There's some harsh truths laid bare and Ty doesn't always come out smelling of roses. Nick's an important foil for Ty because, before Zane, he's the one person he's always known would have his back. And he's not always given that same loyalty and devotion in return.
I have to say, one of the deaths which happens in this book is a shocker and it's still somewhat of a mystery as the story closes.
There are multiple plots all drawing closer into what we know is going to be the final book, the one where we HAVE to find out just what on earth has been going on behind the scenes.
There are two quite different love stories running through this book, both which end up with lifelong commitments being promised.
It'll be a relief when it finally finishes at a point where you can really believe all four men will be living their best lives without having to look over their shoulders.
