Last Resort
by K. Bromberg
Whew! This is a destination romance to beat all destination romances if you are looking for a tropical vibe with two strong personalities and tons of steamy tension!
Sutton has just gotten out of the WORST relationship ever and is looking for a night of blowing off steam with her bestie! Instead, she get’s a one-night stand with a hot as sin man, affectionately nicknamed Johnnie Walker, who bolts before she wakes and has Starbucks delivered to her hotel room. While her personal life may have imploded, Sutton’s work life is taking off! She has landed her first big job as a consultant on a resort project for Sharpe International Network (S.I.N.). The only problem is, her one-night stand is her newest colleague, Callahan Sharpe, and they will both be heading to the Virgin Islands to work together to bring this resort back to life!
There were so many aspects of this story I enjoyed! As always, K. Bromberg gives us an alpha-hole with amazing intentions and a soft heart. Callahan initially comes off as a major playboy who takes unnecessary risks, and shirks his responsibilities when it comes to S.I.N., but as the story progresses, you find that his decisions have a whole lot to do with making others proud and fulfilling their dreams, including Sutton’s. Sutton has a steal resolve when it comes to Callahan! The man is relentless, but Sutton doesn’t back down, determined to keep her priorities in check! This leads to the most insane tension between these two characters! They are combustible when in a room together and you can feel the heat through the pages! There are quite a few small surprises in this book from beginning to end! I don’t want to give anything away but chapter one made my jaw drop and many moments throughout the book made my heart clench. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this and can’t wait to read books two and three!
