Welcome To Winterville by Carrie Elks

5.0

A small town inspired by Christmas. Second chance. Family troubles. Charming characters. Welcome to Winterville had all the ingredients to awaken my wanderlust and make me crave Christmas. It is a charming and holiday-feel-good story that starts a new series by Carrie Elks. And now I'm hooked and want to move to this cozy mountain town.

Famous actress and singer Candy Winters founded Winterville after leaving Hollywood. Now that she is gone, her heirs have decided to sell the town to a corporation that plans to turn it into a ski resort. Against their parents' wishes, Candy's grandchildren have vowed to save their grandmother's legacy. Holly Winter, a successful forensic accountant, is back to Winterville to help her cousins stop the sale.

But the last she was expecting was to come face to face with Josh Gerber, whom she had one of the best nights of her life eight years ago. He is the CEO of the corporation that wants to bulldoze the town. Despite him being the enemy, the attraction is still there. Both have never been able to forget that night. So why not live in the moment instead of lingering in the what-ifs? It's hard not to root for these two. They are adorable.

The Winterville cast is superb: grumpy Nolan Winter, who owns the Christmas tree farm; Gabe Winters, professional snowboarder; sisters Everley and Alaska Winters, and all the townsfolk. I'm so intrigued about them, that I can't wait to read the next story. Welcome to Winterville couldn't have arrived at a better moment, just in time to inaugurate the countdown to Christmas.
