A decent fantasy story even though it plays into tropes of the genre. This was my first Terry Brooks read and it didn't sour me on him. Looking forward to seeing how the trilogy and the Shannara series as a whole plays out. A basic fantasy novel that is a good book for a beginner of fantasy.
