Omg I FLOVED this book.
The story is unlike most I’ve read and I knew from the first page I would love it and im so glad it lived up to its potential. Beautifully written in one of my favourite writing styles the story follows Solomon King as he tries to change the life he was born into.
Solomon is not a hero not by any stretch and is more an anti hero, a self confessed villain. But I love him.
Think of all those villains you love, no I don’t mean bad bits o mean villains ( the crow, the joker, negan) yes he is all of those rolled into one. He is a storm that causes chaos and destruction and he takes no prisoners and gives no mercy and I get it. Seeing the world through his eyes you learn to trust no one, fear no one and forgive no one.
It’s brutal and tense and thrilling and I loved it because it made me feel. I felt frustrated and tense and betrayed and elated. And I loved it
I loved the joker and harlequin feel to it all and the author is truly talented and drawing you in to the story and making sure this will be one book I won’t forget in a hurry
