Amelia Unabridged
by Ashley Schumacher
I’m mixed about how I feel about this book.
It was written extremely well, however the characters fell extremely flat. I couldn’t get an understanding on Jenna, Alex, Amelia, and NE. In fact, I frequently got NE and Alex confused. Also, the epilogue wasn’t needed at all. Let’s not have dogs die.
Amelia’s grief was real in parts, but again I wish I had a stronger sense of Jenna and Amelia, to make it more real for me, to make me feel sad and those emotions. Instead, this also was a little flat.
One other thing that irked me was the panic attack explanation. Was a bit.... too easy?
However, I loved Jenna’s parents, wish we had more of the relationship with all of them. I’m going to be honest, I skimmed a good chunk of the end because I felt like it was just... a whole bunch of nothingness.
