The Book of Witching by C.J. Cooke
4.0
adventurous dark emotional mysterious tense medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Holy moly, this was outside of my usual genre selection. The witch trials have always intrigued me, though the torture and violence these people were subjected to is horrific. There were a few scenes that were difficult to read. The tie-in with the present-day story didn't add much to the story. It felt like a stretch to add one more thing to a story that would have carried itself without it.
