This was a fantastic little novella and definitely one of my favorites I've read so far.

Cooper is an extremely dominant wolf and SnowDancer lieutenant, and he's been biding his time until he can court the wolf he just knows is his mate. The only problem is that Grace is one of the most submissive wolves in the pack, and while she is definitely interested she's not convinced that a relationship between them can work because of that disparity.

This is the first time we've seen a submissive wolf get an HEA, and I really liked that we got. that. And, I think it worked especially well in a novella length story. I really loved how much work went in to building trust between them so that Grace's wolf wouldn't be scared of Cooper's and could know the he would never use his dominance against her. There was no push/pull or denying of feelings. Just two wolves who want to be together and put in the work to make that happen.

Three Thoughts:
1. Cooper's response to Grace's brother and sister after he got over his initial anger was perfection. “How will you face my mother if you send Pia and Revel home in pieces?” A pause, then—“I’d tell her she birthed stupid pups.”
2. Seeing Grace find her footing with Cooper and being confident enough to stand up to him when she needed to was awesome.
3. Cooper finally opening up to Grace about his past trauma and realizing that laying that at her feet isn't a burden, but part of what makes a relationship work - when you can trust the other person to help you carry your worries so you aren't doing it alone was *chef's kiss*

While these novellas aren't required reading for the series, this one is definitely worth your time.
