I will revisit this book one day, but man, could this book have been more unnecessarily wordy? I'm going on the shadow of a doubt that maybe I just didn't want to read a low stakes fantasy right now, but I couldn't find myself connecting to any of the characters whatsoever.
I did end up DNF-ing this book, but the amount of time and energy I put into what I read gives me a pass to say I read it, I really wish I loved this book as I'd heard good things, but man, I couldn't think of one defining thing about it.
I will return to it one day and update this if my opinion changes.
