The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
2.0
Hating someone feels disturbingly similar to being in love with them.

Lucy and Josh are rivals ever since their companies merged. The competition only heightened when a new promotion came into view. If the other loses, they are going to resign. But then, Lucy starts to develop this sort of crush on Josh...

Rating: ★★
I'm kind of sad that I didn't love this as much as the others did. But I guess I held on enough that I did not DNF this book.

The things that I like
I think what is most commendable about this book is that nothing jumped out of the ordinary. It went as it should have. I could definitely see myself in Lucy's position in all fields. I felt the tension between the two of them.

The things that I DID NOT like
First of all, this book is a tad bit boring. I came into this book with high hopes, hoping that I would see more of the rivalry but then I think it was a little underwhelming. The tension was there but it could've stretched more to the levels that you could pop it with a balloon.
The pace was pretty quick. I mean, we went from 0 to 100 in like a snap! There was not that much relationship building that lead to them liking to each other. Then BAM! we're at the ending! There was too much elements in this thing for a romance genre.
Sex. Sex. Sex. We get it, okay? You're hot for each other. There was too much evidence on the physical but not much on the emotional side. I wished that they could have touched each other on their hearts than their bodies. Besides, the sex scenes were not that great either...

In sum:
I'd recommend this for the people who love romance. Maybe this was not just for me and a romance lover would have appreciated this better. For me, it was too much physical and less on the emotional.
