The Boys of ’67: Charlie Company’s War in Vietnam by Andrew Wiest
4.0
Wiest put in narrative form one company's training and wartime experience during the Vietnam War. Wiest interwove the troops' personal accounts with historical military reports.
As the child of a veteran who did two tours in Vietnam, I was grateful for these soldiers' perspectives and memories. I was especially grateful for Wiest's recounting of what happened to the soldiers later. Their tours ended, but the memories affected them (and their families) for the rest of their lives. This book has helped me understand more about my father than I have ever been able to learn from him personally.
