Well, this whole book was about her abortion. Which is not a great place to start... This book made me incredibly sad, mostly because of the ending. Ernaux basically ends with saying that she is proud of herself for going through with an abortion at a time where it wasn't allowed, and never once considers that this is an actual child. Good writing, hence the extra 0.5 stars, but overall just a really sad book.
