Three Assassins by Kōtarō Isaka
1.0

The writing? 0! This is how it goes:

Person A: I worked as a contractor.
Person B: Contractor?
Person A: Yeah, doing odd jobs on contract.
Person B: Oh yeah? Odd jobs?
Person A: Yeah, it's when you don't commit to a job and it has a small duration.
Person B: Small duration? Funny, what's that?

AND IT GOES ON AND ON, I LITERALLY STARTED SHOUTING AT NON-EXISTENT CHARACTERS!

I honestly thought no "thriller" could be worse than The Girl on the Train... I was wrong. This is such a badly written/translated slow-paced book that I completed a whole semester of my degree, completed 8 books in-between, got halfway through Anna Karenina, completed 3 long courses on Coursera during semester break, watched a whole season and two movies, and yet only then did I finish this book. I even bought the hardcover, what was I thinking!
