Thirsty: A Novel by Jas Hammonds

3.0

This book was good but also really weird. I really liked this book. The character development and plot were amazing. The showcasing of the American black struggle was very good. I think that the audiobook I got as an ALC through Netgalley really helped bring the story to life for me in a way that I don't think it would if I were reading it physically. This book is told in an almost lyrical way in my opinion which leads the audiobook to be a good support to the physical book reading experience. I liked the characters and the LGBTQIA+ themes/relationships. I felt like they were authentic enough for the story to still work for me as a whole I can also acknowledge that it may not work for some, especially people more into the community than my bisexual person is but it still showed an experience and a story that really was truly lovely to read about.
