This book was stunning. We all know the Holocaust happened and that it was a truly horrible thing. But we generally hear inspiring stories from survivors. The two fiction pieces in this collection are not stories of good coming out of evil. They depict what happens to people who witness so much horror they lose hope or feel guilty because they survived. A kick in the gut, but completely worth it.
