Maus: A Survivor's Tale. My Father Bleeds History by Art Spiegelman

5.0

Amazing book! It was so impressive how he not only was able to portray the horrors of the Holocaust, but also explored the difficult father/son relationship, through a comic strip. The fact that you were looking at cats and mice made it easier to take some of the more troubling scenes. But suddenly the symbolism would hit you that the Nazis did just the same thing by dehumanizing Jews as vermin. This is one of the most unique books I have had the benefit of reading, and I recommend it for all who want to see a different side to history.
