I started reading this book with the hopes of getting out of a book slump, so it was a very slow read. I would have devoured this book under normal circumstances.
Anyways, there wasn't really any character development where Shigidi was involved tbh, his life changed for the better, yeah, but he still remained the same. Honestly, the events of this book happen within the span of a few days with the occasional flashbacks for context, so for me it felt like barely anything happened. I would have liked to see more happen with them and to them. But overall, I love the lore and would recommend for anyone eager to dive into African myths.
