Rumpelstiltskin by Jacob Grimm

4.0

This version made the story much more understandable. Usually, things characters do in old fairy tales make no sense to me but knowing it in context helps. The King is young and greedy in this telling of the tale. Rumplestiltskin is a little like Gollum and Smeagol because he's divided about helping/hurting the miller's daughter. On one side he is sympathetic but on the other he is scary.
Probably my favorite telling of the tale that I've read.
