This book was more than just a why-choose, dark romance for me. As a latin woman, myself, this book resonated with me so much. I could related to Celia in so many ways.
In a culture, where men are see as stronger & smarter and women are seen as lesser & weaker — Santana Knox wrote a story about woman empowerment. A woman who refused to allow weaker individuals to tell her what to do. Celia fought to better herself, claim what was her’s and break generational cycles.
