Walk the Wire by David Baldacci

4.0

I was all set to give this five stars until the ending, which seemed a convoluted mishmash of tying up loose ends and wrapping things up too abruptly.

Readers seem to either like the Decker character or they don't. I like him so I'm a fan of the series. Jamison is a good foil, although she's not terribly charismatic. Just good at her job and she complements Decker well.

A fun twist enters about midway, which ramps the stakes up a few notches. As usual, Baldacci maintains excellent pacing and keeps the reader in suspense most of the way. He also does a decent job of portraying the barren landscape and harsh climate of the remotest part of North Dakota.
