I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book. I got over half way and not much had happened. I hadn’t expected the roommates for convenience plot line.
I did like the discussion about what does and doesn’t constitute a normal person and how people are treated when they exist outside of those norms. The book does a good job at pointing out some of the absurdity in ‘normal’ society. I think that could have been pushed further.
Her dedication to the convenience store is an interesting part of her character.
I think this would make a good film adaptation.
The pace of the book is so quick, it definitely could have been longer and expanded some of the ideas it was presenting. Or expanded the relationship between characters.
I don’t know why she didn’t just apply to be a full time store manager. That would have been a happy compromise.
Loved the absurdity of the ending. I wanted more.
A quick easy read. I would have finished it sooner, but normally only read while commuting to work, which I haven’t done since last week.
