Honestly, I just picked this book up because Louisa M. Alcott is one of my favourite authors. It wasn't a bad book, and it wasn't a particularly good book either.
It was written by Alcott when she was just 17, and shows how influenced she was by the gothic and sentimental novels of her day. It was a short, easy read - but it wasn't the Alcott that I know and love.
