Okay, so this book takes a while to get into, but I promise you the second half makes up for it. Trust the process, and trust Naomi.
El can use magic. And she's good at it - WAY too good at it.
Unfortunately, she's not so great at keeping herself safe.
You know who is? Orion Lake. And for some reason, he's the only person in the school looking out for her.

Dive in deep to the (sometimes overwhelmingly detailed) consciousness of El as she makes her way through her last year before graduation, and how she plans to survive it.

Okay, so, three and a half stars because it started off slow, and the first 150 or so pages I was just trying to get my head around this god damn school. HOWEVER, the second half? El becomes a little bit more lovable, and she really does turn her entire life around with the help of some super amazing characters. Really enjoyed the read, and have panic-bought the second book because WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT ENDING?! GALADRIEL DO NOT LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER FOR GODS SAKE
