Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson

5.0

"I never expected that you could have a broken heart and love with it too, so much that it doesn't seem broken at all."

Every once in awhile, you find a book that breaks
you and leaves you with a big hole in your heart. It is Tiger Lily for me. This book is such an emotional ride. All the emotions, hatred, betrayal, hurt that I've felt was all too much to take in after finishing the book.

I like how the book was narrated by Tinker Bell. Like Tink, I felt a sort of loyalty with Tiger Lily while reading the book. Oh, I love her so so much. She is not your typical female character. She is stronger than most and also independent. I like how she was different too. I think I hated Tiger Lily at one point when Tik Tok died. I knew she shouldn't be to blame but if she could've been there, she might've been able to prevent it.

Idk the exact reason I hated Peter. But I do hate him with vengeance. It might be because, right from the very start I knew he'll always choose Wendy. I also just didn't feel his whole sincerity in being with Tiger Lily. It just kind of felt off for me at times but hell, I did cry on his letter to Tiger Lily at the end. Ugly sobs. Very ugly sobs.

Wendy. I don't really want to talk about her. Um, no.

I love Pine Saps! Such a silent boy with the biggest heart for Tiger Lily. I love him for Tiger Lily. I was glad he married her and lived with her in the end. Tiger Lily deserves someone like Pine Saps.

Moon Eye! Ha. I just love the fact she (killed) Giant. The motherfcker deserved it.

Tinker Bell. Oh, she's the one I love the most. Our sweet, little guardian angel. She was the one who was taken for granted most of the time and a lot of times I just want to hug her. I felt sorry for her at most. With secretly loving Peter, the jealousy, her being an invisible bug and not being appreciated much by the people she loves most. Can we just all hug Tink? *ugly sobs*

I also liked all the modern representation I saw and related to with the events on the book. Can I just say this? Peter Pan in the book is like the modern day fuck boy? idk why. He just stood out to me as a fragile boy with a disloyal and wavering heart. He just confuses me a lot. Also, what happened with Tik Tok is how we tackled LGBT issues nowadays. IT IS NOT MORALLY WRONG TO BE YOURSELF! I am still upset with what happened with Tik Tok. It took a toll on him and gave in to depression. *sighs* And also, I like how it tackled about young love and betrayal. I couldn't blame Tiger Lily for what she did but I love how she came to regret it and saved Peter and Wendy. She did what a young girl who was hurt will do. She acted on her feelings. She's young, mourning and she was in pain. I wouldn't really take it against her.

Over all, idk how people lived through reading this and get on with their lives. The story is just heartbreaking and painful. This have left me scarred. So scarred, I gave it 5 stars.
