The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse
by Charlie Mackesy
"Asking for help isn't giving up, it's refusing to give up."
So this book was definitely not what I was expecting (in a good way); what I was expecting was that it was going to be a quick cute middle grade, what I was not expecting was to be hit right in the feels and start sobbing like a baby.
This is the book that I wish I had read as a child. It deals with friendship, kindness and accepting yourself as you are. Almost every line of this book is a word of wisdom. I think that everyone should read this book no matter your age.
Now some of my favorite quotes:
"What do you think is the biggest waste of time?" "Comparing yourself to others," said the mole.
"What's your best discovery?" asked the mole. "That I am enough as I am" said the boy.
"What is the bravest thing you ever said?" asked the boy. "Help" said the horse.
"When have you been at your strongest?" asked the boy. "When I have dared to show my weakness"
"Often, the hardest person to forgive is yourself"
God I just want to quote the entire book it's just so amazing. Now go read it. Now.
