Queenie
by Candice Carty-Williams
Finishing this book feels like saying goodbye to an actual person who I will no longer get to spend any time with. In fact not just one person, as the entire cast of characters in Queenie’s life were so rich and well drawn - even the awful people - that I might just miss them all. I wish all novels were like Queenie: an insight into a distinct life, funny and sad in equal measure, inspiring and motivating... This was a joy to read, even when Queenie’s life was far from being joyful.
