Someday is the second book in the Landmark Mountain series, but it can be read as a standalone. Some of the content may be triggering, so make sure to check the content warnings.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this book. It’s a second chance romance between Sofie and Theo who were childhood friends to lovers until she left after high school. They had been apart for eight years before she returned home after the death of her father.

Sofie is still in love with Theo as she has never stopped loving him. She just wants to be in his life again, even if it’s not as anything more than friends. But because of the way she just left, she’s not exactly welcomed back with open arms.

Theo is upset that Sofie is back and trying to be in his life. He claims that he loved her so much that when she left, it left him with a broken heart. He’s not very kind to her nor does he trust what she says.

A small spoiler, but when they were apart, Theo pretty much instantly jumped into bed with another woman. And he continued to sleep around while Sofie was celibate the entire time. If there’s anything I hate about second chance romances, it’s that. It just doesn’t seem like the hero truly loved the heroine, especially with how quickly Theo slept with someone else.

Also, it was pretty obvious that Sofie was battling some sort of trauma with her reaction to being back in her old home. And when it was revealed, it was heartbreaking. She finally opened up to Theo and he was shocked and apologetic for not realizing what had happened…BUT he still had that flicker of doubt about her staying. I mean, it’s like he didn’t even care about how hard it was for her to be there.

This was an emotional story full of heartache and healing. I didn’t like Theo’s character, but I really felt for Sofie. This may not have been my favorite, but it is still a great story.
