Ok, so, I had the chance to digest this one. What made this one quite an interesting read is that my husband was a member of the 160th. We were Nightstalkers for 7.5 years. I also met Michael Durant and ran a 5k with him. That was pretty cool! I heard him speak at the end of that Mogadishu 5k at Fort Rucker, AL. I remember my husband going to SEERS school, and also not being able to talk about the whereabouts and activities of my husband and his unit. Many times, I didn't even want to know because I knew I would worry too much. When he was gone, which was quite often, I wouldn't watch any news. I would also tell friends to call before coming over since every ringing of the doorbell would put me on edge. I don't only remember the hard times, though. I also remember the comradery and bonds. I remember what a tight-knit family the Lady Nightstalkers were. We had to be, we had no choice, because only other LNS could understand the things I was going through at the time. We even had the acronym LNSDQ (Lady Nightstalkers Don't Quit). Nightstalkers are also like the Marines: once a Nightstalker, always a Nightstalker. I will never forget our time with the unit.

With that being said, this book hit home, and I have to admit that I'm glad I read it after we left the Nightstalkers. I knew about this particular incident and watched Black Hawk Down. But it is a totally different read when you have first-hand experience as the wife of a Nightstalker. I was drawn in and couldn't stop reading until the last page. What a story! I just wish it wasn't a true story.
