Running on Empty: Overcome Your Childhood Emotional Neglect by Christine Musello, Jonice Webb

5.0

This reflected a lot of what I've learned in my experience with therapy, but it had me looking at some things in a different way. The first section identifies emotional neglect in all of the forms it can take, with stories about therapy patients as useful examples to illustrate the points. Then it gives useful information one can act on to teach themselves healthy emotional skills as an adult that they did not learn as a child. It also includes a chapter for parents and a chapter for therapists and other professionals. I found the way the information was presented was easily understood and accessible, as well as intriguing.
