I really wanted to like this book, especially once i realized how similar the main character, Kendra, and her life experiences were to mine. It made me content and glad that somebody finally understands some of my struggles. I also loved how art is potrayed in this book as a medium to express your emotions and experiences, and how that aspect of it is much more important than how “pretty” it looks or whether people would want to buy it or not. Kendra even inspired me to start drawing again, and i’m extremely grateful for that! Even though this book helped me in some ways, i just can’t let it allow me to completely forget how unexplored Kendra’s relationship with Meghan was, or how the character of Meghan was never properly described and how we’re all just left to wonder what her life is like and why she feels the way she does. I also didn’t like the ending at all, since it wrapped up too quickly and it ended unrealistically unhappy, considering the recent events of the book. It definitely could’ve been done better and maybe I would have given it a higher rating if it was longer and if it had gone more in depth.
